What is Crossview?
Crossview is an open-source, web-based UI dashboard designed specifically for Crossplane, the Kubernetes add-on for managing cloud infrastructure through Kubernetes APIs. It provides a clear, real-time visual interface to explore, monitor, and manage Crossplane-managed resources, simplifying the complexity inherent in Crossplane’s powerful but abstracted control plane.
Crossplane enables platform teams to define and provision cloud infrastructure declaratively, but understanding the actual state of resources often requires juggling multiple CLI commands, YAML manifests, and mental models. Crossview bridges this gap by offering a focused dashboard tailored to Crossplane workflows.
Crossview offers real-time resource watching with live updates, powered by Kubernetes informers and WebSockets, giving users up-to-the-second visibility into the state of composite resources, managed resources, claims, and other Crossplane objects. It supports multi-cluster environments, allowing users to seamlessly manage and switch between multiple Kubernetes clusters from a single interface, making it easier to monitor distributed infrastructure at scale.
The dashboard provides comprehensive visualization of Crossplane resources, showing ownership hierarchies, relationships, and detailed resource metadata including status conditions, events, and logs. Crossview integrates robust authentication and authorization via OIDC and SAML identity providers such as Auth0, Okta, and Azure Active Directory, supporting secure, enterprise-grade access control.
