What is Codex Migrate?

Codex Migrate + Vault protects local OpenAI Codex work on Apple silicon Macs. Vault searches active and archived local conversations, exports threads as Markdown or PDF, and creates client-side encrypted, versioned backups in a local or cloud-sync folder the user controls. Daily automatic backup is the recommended default. A verified backup can recover one missing conversation without replacing unrelated history, or restore a complete snapshot after a rollback backup. The migration workflow moves portable Codex state, configuration, skills, automations, and selected Git workspaces directly from one Mac to another over SSH with resumable staging, preserved destination authentication and installation identity, and post-transfer verification. The complete engine and CLI are MIT licensed; a signed and Apple-notarized packaged Mac version is available for a one-time $49 purchase. It is not continuous sync and does not host customer conversations. Independent and not affiliated with OpenAI.
