Clasa AI is a browser-based essay grading tool for teachers, tutors, writing centres and students. Instead of scoring against a fixed model, it grades each piece of writing against a rubric the user supplies, so the criteria and weighting stay under the teacher's control.
A rubric can be uploaded as a PDF, Word document, spreadsheet, CSV or a photo of a printed sheet, or built inside the app with the Rubric Maker, which exports to Word or PDF. Essays are pasted in or uploaded as PDF, DOCX or TXT files. Clasa then returns an overall score, a score and comment for each rubric criterion, comments on the text itself, and a separate check for AI-generated writing. All feedback can be edited before it is exported as a PDF report, and graded essays and saved rubrics are kept in a document history.
The interface is available in 27 languages. Clasa runs in any modern browser with no installation, and there are no desktop or mobile apps.
Clasa AI is freemium. A free account covers 5,000 words a month with one AI-detection check a day. Paid plans are Starter at $14 a month, Value at $29 a month, and School at $79 a month, which adds three educator seats with a shared quota. Annual billing is cheaper. Visitors can grade a limited amount of text without creating an account.
