Citizendium is a non-starter as a google account is required to contribute.

Personally, I think this project requires a little too much personal information for what it is. Wanting responsible and factual posting by members is a reasonable goal, but attempting to achieve it by obtaining/using personally identifiable information creates more security issues than it solves.
