What is ChessRoller?

ChessRoller is a chess database and analysis app for macOS and Windows. Each window holds one game, and four modes (play, annotate, library and study) swap the tools around it.

• Import PGN, ChessBase and SCID databases with their annotations intact, and export to PGN. • Analyze with any UCI engine, such as Stockfish. Get a quick overview when a game opens, or run batch analysis across many games. • Sync your own games, or an opponent's, automatically from Lichess and Chess.com, along with Lichess broadcasts and The Week in Chess. • Review a game for mistakes and missed mates, build an opening repertoire from your own games, and drill both with spaced repetition. • Search by position, material, pawn structure, move sequences and tactical motifs such as pins, skewers and forks. Saved searches return results quickly without waiting for an index to build. • Scout opponents: see their openings, their scores with white and black, and who they've played.

Games and databases stay on your computer. The app runs on Apple Silicon Macs and Windows 11 (x64 and ARM). It's a one-time purchase with no subscription, one license covers both platforms on two computers, and there's a free 7-day trial with every feature included.
