    Chalk is described as 'calculator that tries to do right what others do wrong. It wants to prove that a "basic" software calculator can be as handy as a real desktop calculator'. There are more than 25 alternatives to Chalk for a variety of platforms, including Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iPad. The best alternative is SpeedCrunch, which is both free and Open Source. Other great apps like Chalk are Windows Calculator (Free, Open Source), Numi (Freemium), GNOME Calculator (Free, Open Source) and RealCalc Scientific Calculator (Freemium).
