What is CatLight?
CatLight shows build status notifications in your tray on Windows, OS X and Linux. It can get build status from Jenkins, AppVeyor, Travis CI, TFS and VSTS. For Team Foundation Server, Catlight supports new vNext Team Builds, as well as XAML builds.
When a build is broken, the app will show you a notification and tell who broke it first.

I was really disappointed by CatLight v1 and v2 as I discovered it that it does have zero advantages over the older solutions that are also open source. It did crash many times, the UI is not responsive and it doesn't even have a menu to quit the app or to change its startup preference. If you have a Jenkins instance with less than 10-15 jobs it may work for you for for all the other cases it will fail. I don't mind that is commercial but at current quality it should be free for at least two more years before starting to charge for something, is like paying for the privilege to test a proof of concept. For the moment I will stay with CCMenu.
Thanks for trying the app, and sorry for letting you down. We had an extended beta stage through the whole 2016 to find and fix the problems like that. We got a couple of crash reports on our support portal. Some of them were caused by problems in the app, we fixed them and released a new version within several days. In other cases, people have unusual configuration or malfunctioning continuous integration server. We helped our users troubleshoot those problems and found a solution or a workaround for most of them.
Tracking a lot of jobs is an important use case for us. We have a bunch of users that track hundreds of them (mostly on TFS), and some even track more than a thousand. To understand why this didn't work in your case, we would need more details.

I gave it my username and token to check build status from Jenkins, but it gave an error and didn't add the Jenkins server.

The most common connection problem is with SSL certificates. If you are connecting over https and server has a self-signed SSL certificate that is not trusted by your computer, the connection could not be established. This can be fixed by adding your server certificate to trusted list - http://catlight.helprace.com/i105-how-to-add-a-jenkins-with-custom-https-certificate-needs-an-exception-in-normal-browsers
