What is Capacity.so?
Capacity.so is a tool powered by artificial intelligence that allows the creation of full-stack web applications, landing pages, internal tools, and MVPs. It caters to both individuals and teams, enabling a quick transition from idea to live product. It accommodates users of all backgrounds, with or without coding experience. Users describe their project, and the AI generates the necessary code. For those with coding skills, there's an option for deeper customization. The platform also supports collaboration and task delegation within the same environment.
The code generated by Capacity.so is fully accessible and exportable for self-hosting or further local development. Unlike other AI tools, it creates complete applications with clean architecture, authentication, APIs, and business logic.
Capacity.so offers a free trial without any financial commitment. It uses modern applications like Next.js, Tailwind CSS, TypeScript, and REST or tRPC for APIs, ready for deployment on platforms like Vercel or AWS.

Comments and Reviews
Capacity.so is impressive on so many levels ...but! I asked it do design a searchable, sortable music catalogue which would gather tag information from the web. I pressed "go" and immediately the code began to appear on screen. It is fascinating to watch. Once it had completed the coding I was left with a section of blank screen so I asked it why. It corrected the code and it fixed it, no problem. Then I realised that certain fields were just placeholders so I asked it to correct that, which it did. After that I thought I should have asked for an import .csv function so I requested that and it was duly added. All very impressive until I decided to use the .csv import function and it gave me over 7,000 identical data entries all marked as "Unknown Artist" and "Unknown Album" from a .csv file I know to be valid. By now, of course, I had run out of my alloted questions (I'm a free version user) and so was left on my own trying to figure out how to fix things. And that's when I discovered that my catalogue had no equivalent of Edit - Select - Select All - Delete All and that all 7,000+ entries would have to be deleted individually. So what does that tell me? Well, if you are a free version user it is vitally important to have a clear and thorough plan before you commit to pressing "go". If you don't and you have forgotten things, like me, then you will use up your additional questions very quickly. A cynical person might be led to think it's a good way to encourage subscriptions and maybe it is. In conclusion, it is a stunningly brilliant tool if you have a business or other need where you can justify the monthly subscription. If you only intend to use the free version you may end up in limbo, like me.
Your experience seems to be on par with mine with
Readdy, another AI-based app builder. Not really sure if the consistency is better in Capacity though, since later versions often tend to modify parts you didn’t actually want to change, which can lead to even more generations and bloated code.
