What is CamPlot Creator?

CamPlot Creator is a camera plot (camera diagram / overhead shot diagram) app for directors, DPs, technical directors and camera crews.

You place cameras, subjects, lights, mics and cables on a to-scale ground plan. The ground plan can be an imported PDF or image, a LiDAR scan of the room from a Pro iPhone or iPad, a satellite map of the location, or drawn with shapes, textures and set pieces.

Each camera's field of view is calculated from its real body, sensor window and lens (50+ camera bodies and 150+ sensor windows), with coverage read out in feet and inches. 14 camera types are drawn as the rig they are (pedestal, Steadicam, gimbal, PTZ, jib, Chapman, cable cam, drone and more), and 14 lighting fixture types carry throw, colour temperature and intensity.

Cameras and subjects can move along paths, on a jib arm or on dolly track, and the whole plot plays back on one shared count.

A project holds every setup of a shooting day, with an operator roster and a gear inventory. The plot produces camera, lighting and audio reports as PDF.

Sharing is a live link: changes appear on the crew's screens as you make them, collaborators can edit, and viewers are free.

Runs in any modern browser and as a native app on iPhone, iPad and Mac. Works offline and syncs when back online.
