What is Bytebase?

Bytebase is a unified platform for governing how teams and AI agents access and change any database.

It covers three areas:

Database Change Management — plan, review, approve, and deploy schema and data changes, with 100+ automated SQL review rules, multi-environment rollouts, and GitOps / CI integration.

Database Access Control — replace shared credentials and standing privileges with fine-grained roles, just-in-time access, and dynamic data masking.

Database Compliance — a single audit log of who changed or accessed which data, when, and who approved it.

AI agents reach databases through the built-in MCP server under the same permissions, masking, and audit as human users.

Supports PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, Snowflake, and more. Self-host or use Bytebase Cloud; the Community plan is free.
