Buxfer has enough power, stability and functionality to beat the market leaders. I have been using it with joy. It surprised me how simple and straightforward views management are. They should definitely invest in marketing.
Garbage company who led me for a month for a reimbursement that never came. I had to file a complain with my bank. Avoid.
I reported Buxfer support 2 bugs. They replied within minutes and fixed the issues.
Splitwise is a great, free tool for keeping track of shared expenses and IOUs. Makes living with roommates/going on big group trips SO much easier. They've built a Buxfer importer to make switching over easy and quick: http://blog.splitwise.com/2013/12/13/buxfer-users-come-join-us/
They also have free iPhone/Android apps (an unofficial one for Windows phones too). They support international use.
Buxfer lost a lot of user data in January 2011 and are discussing a total shutdown of service.
The website and features are great indeed, but with data loss and service termination immanent, DON'T USE IT.
And yet it's 2018. Buxfer only got better.
Buxfer is dead. They have absolutely no support and haven't responded to users in a year. Also, they are constantly going down and they are not reliable. I loved what they offered but it just not usable anymore. Check out their support forums for proof.
