This was my favorite app for managing content, like links, photos, recipes, notes & lists. It's great because you can invite people and assign tasks to them. It's privacy respecting, ad-free (my favorite features). You can make as many sub-folders as you wish. It's visually pleasing & customizable. I spent several months putting my folders together, and out of nowhere, they decide to email us & say they were going premium-only, with an absolutely asinine price-range that most people can't afford, especially people who dont use it enough to consider it worth even 60% the cost... They gave us 2 weeks to decide if we would sign up, this was a way to pressure us into paying, by telling us we would only have that long to get the subscription price at a about $1 less a month - you can charge $8 or $7 a month, it's still bananas for a personal account. The other discount choice, of course, "why dont you sign up for the year plan". That's not going to be way too much to pay at once or anything. /s
They didn't care about any of their previous or current user base - the people who shared the app since it's conception, spent all their time on it, all of us who rated it highly. You can see the drop in ratings coincide with what was done, and all the hurt users. It went from well in between 4 & 5, to around 3.3 that quickly. This was a bad idea
To top it off, they kept leaving canned responses on the playstore, telling people to use their "export" feature... Which only exports links. Nothing else. Most of us already knew that, and mentioned it. When you have photos, documents, notes, to-do lists and everything in between, and with the posts sometimes having comments or being favorited - this is a joke. Not a fun one.
I dont know about you, but this is all a really gross way to run the business. it's upsetting when nothing else exists to replace this. I was using this for a few things, but not enough to justify $8 a month. Hope some day they change their mind, But I doubt it
This is a fun app, unfortunately, cloud-first and has no Markdown support but it is worth trying out. Read my full review at: https://www.noteapps.ca/bublup/
