What is Broadcast Codec?

Broadcast Codec is a fast, offline reference for broadcast and A/V engineers. It covers connector pinouts, codecs, colour and HDR, frame rates, loudness standards, resolutions, signal levels, IP and SMPTE ST 2110, lighting, intercom and talkback, and broadcast control — grouped the way an engineer thinks about them, each with a short note on why the value is what it is.

It also includes the calculators you actually use on a job: SDI cable-run limits, audio delay from distance, sample counts, dB to ratio, timecode to frames (drop and non-drop), and feet to meters.

Every value is traced to primary manufacturer documentation, a published standard, or a dimensioned drawing. Connector faces are drawn from CAD geometry and datasheets, not product photos. Where there is no authoritative source, the entry says so plainly.

$14.99 once. No subscription, no account, no internet required. Built by a working broadcast engineer.
