Brimley information
What is Brimley?
Brimley is a Chrome side-panel calculator that shows what a seller actually keeps from an Etsy sale after every fee — listing, transaction, payment processing, Offsite Ads, regulatory operating fee, and country VAT on fees for sellers in VAT-regime markets.
Click the toolbar icon, the calculator opens in Chrome's side panel beside any tab — Etsy Stats, your bookkeeping spreadsheet, a competitor listing, anything. Same fee engine as the web tool at getbrimley.com.
Coverage: 24 countries with country-specific payment processing rates (US 3% + $0.25, UK 4% + £0.20, Canada 3% + C$0.25, etc.), DST regulatory fee for sellers in UK / France / Italy / Spain / Türkiye / Canada / India / Vietnam, Offsite Ads at 12% (=$10K/yr) or 15% (<$10K/yr) with the $100 per-order cap modeled.
UK sellers get a 20% VAT-on-fees toggle that most calculators miss — for non-VAT-registered shops Etsy adds 20% UK VAT on top of all seller fees as a B2C supply. The reverse-charge mechanic kicks in if you provide a VAT ID.
Privacy: zero data collection. Calculator runs entirely in the browser; nothing is sent to any server. State (your last country and inputs) is stored locally via chrome.storage.local. No analytics, no tracking, no external network calls. Manifest V3, minimum permissions (sidePanel + storage only — no host permissions, no content script, no Etsy DOM/API access).
Brimley is a profit analytics product for Etsy sellers, currently pre-launch. The full web product reconciles Etsy dashboard revenue against actual bank deposits, listing by listing. This extension is the calculator slice of that engine — same math, same primary-source verification (Etsy Help, Etsy Fees & Payments Policy, gov.uk for UK).
