Bookworm is a simple no-fuss ereader for Linux machines. It opens common formats without any fiddling and has basic text adjustment and bookmarking features. It indexes books from folders (nothing fancy), but does not convert. There are no bells and whistles, which could be exactly what you are looking for - It opens quickly and closes quickly. It's excellent for a light weight default ereader when you don't want to haul out Calibre for a quick peek at an ebook.
