What is blekko?

blekko is a search engine that fights spam, preserves your privacy, and uses "slashtags" to refine searches.

In many spammed-up categories, for example health searches, blekko has a "slashtag" (vertical search engine) that provides 100% spam free results. You can either add "/health" to your search, or we will often correctly guess what category your search is in.

blekko preserves your privacy by not tracking you or your search history.

You can create your own slashtags and volunteer to edit ours. For example, if you have a hobby which has a few dozen websites, you can create a slashtag which searches just those websites. We have over 1,000 pre-made high-quality slashtags; you can see the list here: https://blekko.com/tag/show
