What is BestSync?
BestSync is a utility for following solutions:
- Synchronize files between PCs by utilizing network storage, USB drive, etc.
- Synchronize files with FTP server, support FTP/FTPS/SFTP(SSH File Transfer Protocol).
- Synchronize a folder with a ZIP file, support AES cryptographic algorithm to protect the zip file with password.
- Synchronize Outlook (mail, contact, etc) and Windows Mail between PCs by utilizing FTP server, USB drive, etc.
- Backup your critical files to the external hard disk, network storage, FTP server by scheduler.
- Publish only changed files to your web site by FTP. BestSync has an easy to use interface and provides following advanced features:
- Preview to confirm the hit file, and modify the action before starting synchronization.

Just tried BestSync and I have to say that it's one of those programs that has loads of features and settings yet it does not confuse users that are not that familiar with this type of software programs

I prefer Synkron: Free Version of BestSync 2011 cannot sync network drives & the portable version is very expensive The free BestSync version 2011 cannot synchronize files in network drives or shared folders, see (1) and search for "network drive"! For the portable version of BestSync 2011 you pay US$28.00, see http://www.risefly.com/fsebuy.htm. So I clearly prefer Synkron (2), if I need a 100% (also for commercial use) free portable and multilanguage solution for a dropbox folder and network synchronisation (2). Synkron (Open Source) has also a quite good backup function for similar purposes as Cobian Backup. If I need a free private solution with network synchronisation I use PureSync (3) (not portable) or Allway Sync (4), also portable and with all functions you can imagine, but limited with 40000 files per 30-day in the free version. BestSync 2011 adds the following new features:
From Version 2011, BestSync added the following features to the Free License: (1) File backup feature. (2) File restore feature. (3) Excluding or including files and folders. (4) Filtering files by wildcard patterns.
The normally necessary basic functions Network Sync and File Exclusion you do not have in Free License of BestSync. Because of this I prefer the "Better than Best Sync" products PureSync, SyncBack or "Allway Sync" although BestSync supports 15 languages and SyncBack supports only English in the free version.
