What is Bastillion?

Bastillion is a web-based SSH console and SSH key management tool that acts as a bastion host for administrators. Instead of distributing long-lived SSH keys to individual users, Bastillion holds its own keypair and pushes/rotates public keys across registered systems, so access can be revoked centrally in one place.

Key features:

  • Live, multi-session web terminals with commands optionally broadcast to every open session at once
  • Centralized SSH key management: rotate or disable access to every system instantly
  • Two-factor authentication (Authy or Google Authenticator)
  • Every terminal session is recorded and can be replayed for audits
  • Profiles control exactly who can reach which systems
  • Composite Scripts to run one script across a whole fleet of hosts
  • Built-in TLS/HTTPS, with support for custom certificates
  • Optional LDAP external authentication

Ships as a single self-contained Java jar with an embedded H2 database. Free for personal/small use up to 5 registered systems; paid annual licenses (Starter/Team/Business) lift that cap for larger deployments.
