Said about Barcode2Win as an alternative

"Barcode to PC: Wi-Fi scanner" is easier to use than Barcode2Win, but it has better timestamping than B2PC. The best would be the two merged together. :)) You have to scan a token for the current session, which is more inconvenient than B2PC's solution, but both are very good with their own pros and cons.

I've just rescanned Barcode2Win.exe, and now VirusTotal only shows 10 false positive detection after 6 months after the last scanning. This app is safe, it just communicates between your PC and your phone/tablet, which could be misleading for heuristic detection. Barcode2Win is great, and if you're OK with re-setting things before each scanning section (at the end of a day or so, the free version only keeps the settings until exit.
