What is Bake'n Deck?

Bake'n Deck is a rekordbox → CDJ prep toolkit that works with rekordbox, not instead of it: the library stays in rekordbox and its database is never touched. Every tool works on the files and on the collection XML rekordbox exports.

  • Headroom writes one gain change per track into the file, bringing the library to a uniform true peak ceiling (-0.5 dBTP by default). No limiter; MP3 and AAC are never re-encoded. Leave the trim at 12 o'clock and no track goes over 0 dB.
  • Sort writes an Alphanumeric key then BPM order into every playlist, so it survives the USB export.
  • CDJ Safe converts a playlist to 320 kbps MP3 for older players, with cues and beat grids kept.
  • USB Export writes the CDJ stick straight from the XML, without opening rekordbox.

The baken command line is free and MIT licensed (macOS, Windows, Linux). Bake'n Deck for Mac is a one-time purchase on the Mac App Store, with no subscription and no network access.
