What is BackupDrill?

BackupDrill backs up a Supabase project's Postgres database into a bucket you own (AWS S3, Cloudflare R2, Backblaze B2 or any S3-compatible storage). Add the project's Storage S3 keys and the Storage files go into the same snapshot.

The point is proof, not just copies. On a schedule, BackupDrill restores the latest snapshot into a disposable Postgres and checks it: archive checksum, a clean pg_restore, table counts against the manifest, non-empty tables, and a sample of Storage file checksums. Each drill produces a report you can keep or forward to a client, and a failed drill sends an email before you ever need the backup.

Snapshots are plain pg_dump custom-format archives with a manifest, so they restore with stock pg_restore without BackupDrill. The backup engine is an open-source CLI under the MIT licence.

The Free plan covers one project with weekly backups and a restore drill on the first backup. Paid plans are $19, $49 and $99 per month and cover 5, 20 and 100 projects with daily backups and weekly drills.
