What is B-Maker?

B-Maker is a local-first writing application for books, novels, nonfiction and article collections. It combines manuscript editing, nested structure, text versions, comments, characters, plotlines, locations, an Idea Map, manuscript board, collections, analytics and publishing tools in one portable .bmaker project.

Writers can work with individual chapters or the full manuscript, organize sections without changing the manuscript tree, compare revisions, run editorial checks, preview the finished book and export to DOCX, EPUB, PDF, TXT and Markdown.

B-Maker is available as a Windows application and as a web app. Browser projects can be downloaded as portable .bmaker files, so project storage does not depend on a proprietary cloud service.
