This list is an update to the list I created seven years ago https://alternativeto.net/lists/8008/front-end-development/. The web and development has changed a lot since then and rather than re-write history, decided to create a new list based on current patters and shifts in enterprise environments. What is Avalonia UI?

Avalonia UI is an open-source UI framework that allows developers to create stunning, cross-platform applications using a single .NET codebase . It provides a flexible styling system and supports a wide range of platforms such as Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, and Browser (using WASM) . The framework is mature and production-ready and is used by companies such as Schneider Electric, Unity, JetBrains, and GitHub.

Avalonia UI uses its own rendering engine to draw UI controls, ensuring a consistent look and feel across different platforms. This means that developers can share their UI code and maintain a unified appearance and behavior across different target platforms.

The framework is free to use and always will be. It also offers a Visual Studio, and Visual Studio Code extensions that provides XAML IntelliSense and a built-in XAML previewer. JetBrains Rider & ReSharper offer extensive integration with Avalonia UI, delivering huge productivity gains for Avalonia UI developers.
