Makes typing so much more convenient. Can't work without it.
I was looking for a Linux alternative for PhraseExpress (Windows) to paste phrases into any document or on any website.
Usually I use 20 phrases (names, adresses, mail-adresses, etc.). I like to insert a phrase by one click on the icon which opens the phrases-overview and a second click to paste the selected phase into the document/website.
Meanwhile I tested many applications and found CopyQ, Keepboard and AutoKey the best among these.
For Keepboard there is only one issue: It’s not possible to keep the phrases (saved items) in a fixed order. The position of the phrases changes each time after paste a phrase.
The easiest solution for me is Autokey. It is very transparent and clear. The program, settings and phrases are stored in one folder. The same applies for Keepboard. CopyQ seems intransparent and is scattered in several folders.
I used Autokey on Ubuntu 22 around last year. With easy scrptis I wrote bash + keybind. Very helpful app for task automation. With our team used tasks without apps like postman.
Does the job and is very easy to use
