    The FreeCAD BIM Workbench is increasingly a useful alternative to Autodesk Revit. It includes many similar tools and has good IFC support. So while it is not a drop-in replacement, it is viable for smaller projects. Do some research on their forum and see what you think.

    I don't want to be this negative, but this software is really lacking a lot and yet it is the closest to Bim that we have in open source so far. I feel like this should be a job to blender community since writing a Bim suit alone is colossal work. I could work with the lacking features, but software is really far from intuitive for architects.

    Sverchok is not an alternativ to Autodesk Revit itself. Sverchok is an alternative to Revit's visual programming extension, Dynamo. With Sverchok inside modelling software like FreeCAD or Blender results similar to Dynamo can be achieved.
