Audionarrator is a web application that converts documents the user owns, such as PDFs, EPUBs, and DOCX files, into structured audiobooks. Rather than reading a file top to bottom, it first analyzes the document's structure: chapters are detected automatically, and front matter such as the table of contents, copyright page, and preface is classified and excluded from playback by default.
Each book is added to a personal library with cover, reading progress, and per-chapter state. Audio is generated per chapter, so individual chapters of a long book can be converted and listened to without processing the entire document. The player supports playback speeds from 0.75x to 2x, resumes position across devices, works with the screen locked including lock-screen media controls, and auto-advances between chapters. Every chapter can be downloaded as an MP3 file. Each chapter also has a question-and-answer panel that answers only from that chapter's text.
Equations, code blocks, and figures are deliberately skipped during narration. Scanned image-only PDFs are detected at upload and are not supported until OCR is added. Audionarrator is freemium: the free tier includes a full first chapter and a monthly word allowance, with paid plans metered in words per month.
