Wow! 1 Like! Talk about a Hidden Gem!!! I saw Voice Audiobook Player recently (maybe the "audiobook" keyword gives it mental representation of use case scenario and categorization in the brain and, thus, is less perceivably or preumably 'generic' than an "audio" player (which, on F-Droid at least, many I have seen over the years and I can't recall any that served the purpose filled already by VLC (multimedia, cross-platform, active development, near everything one might want in a non-specialty media player) or a specific "Music"-oriented player which, TBH, I have used my phone little enough for music outside of YouTube (Vanced(!)|w(Sponsorblock(!))/online (my primary music source) and generally for my audio library (here or there, not as much as YouTube Vanced(!)) i have used VLC... HOWEVER... AudioAnchor has been (AFAIR) ROCK SOLID for my audiobook and/or ongoing listening to audiobooks, audio lectures, ... It has been so founsationalin my usage, and 'always there' and IME without any probkems (catastrophic) that woukd deter me to look for alternatives... it has just simply— worked. Well. And it has been accountable. (For emphasis:) accountable... I think IIRC the features that set it apart for me initially (and still, to this day... (I have unfinished audiobooks, lectures or Ted talks, etc. All with bookmarks and my listenimg location saved (years later?!? So freakin cool... might seem simple or a no-brainer and, at the same time IME, very few apps have been accountable consistently, simple UI (No need to take notes to remember how to use it if months go by) OR invaluable enough to warrant spendimg time remembering | searching forums (i.e. Syncthing, FairEmail(not too complicated... worth the Qs tho!, etc...), BACKUP-ABLE, ... if AudioAnchor were to ever shcrap the bucket bed (..err.. stop working... I can sleep at night knowing a) I have backups of my bookmarks, listening poaitions, etc. Etc., the backup file(s)|database is idiot-friendly (I can read it and probably convert it without needing to be a doctoral level computer scientist)... it's probay a CSV fe, maybe .json but super simple readable or something... not havimg to worry about .. well... sh...shtuff not working.

Tldr Simple Works Serves its purpose Well Very well Has consistently for 3-4+ years One of a handful of apps that have stayed on my phone and i have not needed or would benefit from an alternative in those 3-4 years... Again, sjmple... i dont need to take notes to remember how to use it. UI-Friendly. UX-Friendly. Intuitive. Cross-Platform FOSS I can sleep at night Minimal With enough features and not extra distractions... Umm... Timeless HOW T F IS THIA JOT WAY MORE WELL-KNOWN?!?! ...I'm guessing it is due partly to being 'lumped' in with other 'audio' players (dime a dozen(?) seemingly), as opposed to 'Audiobook' players which, presumably, is a much smaller 'market' 'niche' requiring certain specific features (i dunno... bokkmarks, sleep timer, save reading poaition (oh yeah.. mine syncs between devices IIRC easily /as easy as it can be sans 'Google'-baked-in in this day and age) via Syncthing)...

I am curious as t ok what 'Voice' has over AudioAnchor so I'll be possibly checking it out... then again, why 'fix' what aint broke? The only reason i saw Voice was because I was curious about audio "markers" or 'quick bookmarks' (ie using external buttons | no need to have eyes open... just a placemarker to return to (which, AudioAnchor may have currently, I simply stumbled upon Voice as an alternative in my search...)

God Save The AudioAnchor

*I am not the dev nor have any reason other than a) i hope this leads someone to a similar experience as mine and b) tgat increases the chance that AudioAnchor wi be developped longer, actively, etc. because... well, I want it to be around, and, it's just a no-brainer IMO so just trying to get people connected andnkeep the good vibes flowin' and help the community.
