What is ASM - Arctis Sound Manager?

SteelSeries GG and Sonar are Windows-only, so on Linux most of what an Arctis headset can do is simply out of reach: those settings live in the headset's firmware and are exposed only over USB. Arctis Sound Manager is a graphical application that talks to the headset directly and brings them back.

What it does:

• Device settings — sidetone, active noise cancelling and transparency, microphone processing, sleep timer, volume limiter, microphone LED, battery and charging status. • Sonar-style parametric equaliser, with 354 per-game presets. On nine models the curve is written into the headset itself, so it follows the headset to a console or a phone and keeps working when the app is closed. • 4-channel mixer — Game, Chat, Media and Output as separate audio devices, the ChatMix feature GG offers on Windows, built on PipeWire and working with games and Discord. • Spatial audio — 7.1 virtual surround through HeSuVi. • Automatic audio routing when the headset is powered on or off.

Supported hardware — 18 device families: Arctis Nova Pro Wireless, Nova Pro Wired, Nova Pro Omni, Nova Elite, Nova 7, Nova 7P, Nova 7X, Nova 5, Nova 4, Nova 3 Wireless, GameBuds, Arctis 7, Arctis 7+, Arctis 9, Arctis Pro Wireless.

Installed as a native package: Arch Linux and CachyOS (AUR or a signed pacman repository), Fedora and Nobara (COPR), Ubuntu and Debian (PPA), and inside a container on immutable systems such as Bazzite, Silverblue and SteamOS. Available in 28 languages.
