What is Arc Browser?
Arc is a browser designed for personalized and distraction-free web browsing, compatible with Windows, macOS, and iOS. Its features like Spaces, Profiles, Split View, Themes, and privacy protection enable users to customize their online activities. Spaces and Profiles allow users to organize different activities within one window.
Users can adjust their browsing setup using Split View and Themes. Arc prioritizes privacy and security, ensuring user's browsing history and searches remain private. It also incorporates artificial intelligence to improve the browsing experience.
The AI assistant, Arc Max, uses OpenAI’s API Platform and Anthropic’s Claude for commercial applications. Users can opt-in to Max's AI features like 'Ask on Page,' '5 Second Previews,' and 'Ask ChatGPT,' which provide quick answers and webpage previews. 'Tidy Tab Titles' and 'Tidy Downloads' features automatically rename tabs and downloads for an organized browsing experience.

Comments and Reviews
Game changing user-friendliness but missing Linux version.
It's another lying browser. They do collect data, Apple even confirms this. No extensions from Firefox or Chrome, you'll going to get spammed by ads. Zero protection, you read PR ads on Arc "safety" but no real protection. Do not install this browser.
No extensions from Firefox or Chrome? You are incorrect. This isn't an accurate review.
It was at the time of the review
@tvgoing1 You might be crazy! It's the best browser on macOS! Even if they are watching me, it doesn't bother me. Better then Safari, so cozy, so smooth. On Windows 11 needs a lot of improvement and they do nothing maaan!
@Nick M It's the disingenuous enthusiasm of comments like this, that make me loose trust in a product before I even try it
Stealing Open Source
Forcing users to login, none open source browser? That's a clear pass. Happy riding Zen Browser which addresses both concerns.
An interesting experiment in finding different ways to use the web, on the idea that people don't want to use it more, they want to use the web less to accomplish what they want.
The sidebar, mini-browser and auto-closing tabs (with non-closing pinned tabs and workspaces) encourages you to not just open a zillion tabs and leave them open all the time. No bookmarks, which I suspect is a design choice for the same reasons. Some AI features for organizing, which is better than just sticking a chatbot in the sidebar for buzzword compliance, though I haven't actually used them.
Annoyingly, it still requires you to sign into an Arc account just to use the app. You can't even look at your settings or view a local file without signing into your cloud account. Literally no other web browser I've used does this. And I've used a lot of web browsers over the years!
In order for you to use Arc you're account-walled; this means you need to log-in into an account to even launch the web browser interface. No web browser shall do this.
If you're looking for an Arc alternative, take a look at the Alpha/Beta project "Zen Browser" which is based on Firefox ESR.
Its distraction free interface is something that attracted me towards this browser. Using it along with Chrome as getting used to its shortcuts needs some time specially when I am habitual to Chrome and firefox like browsers for over a decade.
