ACS Monitor information
What is ACS Monitor?
ACS Monitor is a self-hosted network monitoring tool built primarily for managed service providers, but equally usable by in-house IT teams and homelab enthusiasts. It runs on your own infrastructure — your monitoring data never leaves your network.
What it monitors: SNMP devices (v1/v2c/v3 with custom OIDs and MIB resolution), 11 service monitor types (HTTP, HTTPS, ping, DNS, SSH, SMTP, TCP, FTP, POP3, IMAP, MySQL), and websites (SSL expiry, content changes, response time). Network auto-discovery uses a combination of ping sweep, SNMP probing and service detection to find devices automatically.
Alerting: notifications via email, SMS, Slack and webhooks, with consecutive-failure thresholds so a single dropped ping doesn't wake you up at 3am. Recovery notifications and an acknowledge workflow are included.
Dashboards and diagnostics: 25 drag-and-drop dashboard widget types, with dashboards publicly shareable via link. Browser-based diagnostic tools — ping, traceroute, port scan, DNS lookup, SSL check, WHOIS, HTTP headers — with live streaming output, so you don't need to SSH into a jumpbox just to run a traceroute. Full REST API for everything.
Installation: two options. A single-command installer that detects your distro (AlmaLinux, Ubuntu, Debian, Rocky, RHEL, Fedora, Raspberry Pi OS) and sets up everything — Postgres, Redis, SSL cert, admin account. Or a bootable ISO if you'd rather have a dedicated appliance than bolt it onto an existing box. Either way you're up and monitoring in well under half an hour.
Pricing: free tier covers 100 devices/monitors with no time limit and no card required — every feature works. Pro is £240/yr for 500 devices, Enterprise £590/yr for 1,000, custom for unlimited. Annual licensing only, flat rate, no per-device or per-sensor pricing.
ACS Monitor is a self-hosted alternative to SaaS network monitoring tools like Auvik, Domotz, and Datadog, and a simpler-to-deploy alternative to open-source tools like Zabbix, LibreNMS and Nagios.
