What is A Dark Cave?
A Dark Cave is a text-based survival game that blends incremental resource management and village building with deep narrative exploration. You begin alone in a cold, dark cave with nothing but a spark. Light a fire. Gather wood and stone. Forge tools and weapons. Build huts, recruit villagers, and grow a settlement from nothing.
As your village expands, so does the danger. Wolves, bone armies, and cannibals raid your walls. A Blood Moon rises, bringing lycanthropes. You must fortify, craft bombs, and recruit fellowship companions, amongst them a Restless Knight, an Elder Wizard, an Ashwraith Huntress, to fight back.
Below, the cave descends into the ruins of a lost civilization. Temples, citadels, and a sealed portal hold Lovecraftian secrets that unravel your understanding of the world and yourself. Every choice shapes your path: sacrifice or mercy, knowledge or madness.
