Haiku R1 beta 6 brings Firefox and faster development

Haiku R1/beta6 is now available, bringing more than 530 resolved bugs and enhancement tickets after nearly two years of development.

The release adds officially branded Firefox and other Firefox-based applications to HaikuDepot for x86_64, alongside NVMM hardware virtualization support for QEMU on compatible Intel VT-x and AMD-V systems.

It also includes system-wide performance and memory-management work, with reported gains in file-heavy tasks and HaikuWebKit rebuild times.
