Fedora Linux 45 Beta adds kmscon and signed package checks
Fedora Linux 45 Beta replaces the legacy in-kernel console with kmscon, adding smoother rendering, improved Unicode and font support, and system stability changes.
It also requires valid package signatures by default before installation and standardizes desktop secret management with oo7, replacing legacy backends including GNOME Keyring and KWallet.
The beta includes Podman 6, Pandas 3, MySQL and MariaDB updates, plus early Python 3.15, Go 1.27, GCC 16.2, and glibc 2.44 releases.
