DroidFS 2.3 brings new Material 3 UI, enhanced thumbnails, and edge-to-edge screen support

DroidFS 2.3 is now available as the newest version of the open source encrypted overlay filesystem for Android. This release introduces a redesigned user interface based on Material 3, accompanied by a dynamic color theme. The update also enhances compatibility with modern devices by optimizing the app layout for edge-to-edge screens.

Following the interface changes, version 2.3 improves media browsing by delivering more efficient thumbnail generation. It adds support for embedded video thumbnails, enables thumbnail previews within exposed volumes, and implements a shared cache that benefits both thumbnails and the image viewer.

Building on these workflow updates, users now have access to an option for taking photos repeatedly. Additionally, image rotation now only edits Exif metadata rather than re-encoding the entire image file, supporting better performance and file fidelity.

Concluding the update, DroidFS 2.3 provides a collection of bug fixes, user experience and performance improvements, dependency updates, and updated Russian and Spanish translations.
