openSUSE Tumbleweed updates desktop environments, kernel, Mesa, and security fixes
openSUSE Tumbleweed received major updates in May, featuring refreshed KDE, GNOME, and Plasma desktop environments along with Mesa 26.1 series that introduce Vulkan 1.4 API support and experimental Intel Nova Lake P hardware compatibility.
The Linux kernel advanced through versions 7.0.5 to 7.0.9, providing critical security and driver fixes. Security was a primary focus across the distribution, with multiple CVEs addressed in Apache HTTP Server, PostgreSQL, rsync, dnsmasq, and the kernel.
AppArmor 5.0.0 also arrived, modernizing mandatory access controls for sysadmins.
