Parrot Security 7.2 launches with Linux kernel 6.19, Copy Fail patch, and updated packages

Parrot Security 7.2, the latest release of the security-focused Debian-based Linux distribution, arrives powered by Linux kernel 6.19.13. This kernel incorporates the patch for CVE-2026-31431 “Copy Fail”, responding to a recent vulnerability and strengthening system security for users.

Building on updates from recent months, Parrot 7.2 also integrates the latest key tools for security and development. Notable packages updated for compatibility and stability include netexec, zaproxy, bloodhound, beef-xss, certipy-ad, evilginx, evil-winrm-py, sqlmap, mcpwn, parrot-updater, metasploit, enum4linux-ng, gdb-gef, legion, httpx-toolkit, and pypsrp. Meanwhile, core infrastructure sees technical improvements to Docker containers and enhanced post-installation logic, aiming for a more stable experience when syncing home directories from Parrot 6 “Lory”.

Parrot-core now supports automatic checks and updates for Flatpak packages, which contributes to improved out-of-the-box package security. Following these core changes, users will notice a reworked parrot-menu as its migration to a Go codebase continues, along with refinement of desktop entries and upgrades to parrot-themes and parrot-tools. Complementing these features, Parrot 7.2 synchronizes with the latest Debian upstream security and stability updates across all supported packages.
