Google Home app adds animated event previews and enhanced face detection

The Google Home app now offers animated, zoomed-in camera event previews and enhanced timeline navigation, including new event filtering options. Powered by Gemini 3.1, familiar face detection is improved with easier refinement and feedback buttons, helping provide more accurate alerts. The new version brings upgraded voice intelligence and automation capabilities.

Select Google Home Premium camera features, such as Gemini-generated event descriptions, are also now available for earlier generation Nest cameras.
