
Yelp's upgraded AI assistant can now answer questions, book reservations for you, and more
Yelp has overhauled its AI-powered assistant, enabling users to access trusted recommendations and complete bookings, reservations, or quote requests directly in a single conversation. This update leverages Yelp’s extensive community content, drawing on hundreds of millions of reviews, photos, and detailed business information to provide instant, relevant answers across all business categories.
Rather than scrolling traditional search results, users can now interact in natural language, describing highly specific or complex needs. The assistant quickly surfaces options tailored to individual preferences. Once a suitable business is identified, users can initiate reservations or appointments, with the assistant guiding them through each step.
Currently, the new assistant is available in the Yelp app for iOS and Android within the dedicated “Assistant” tab and on selected business pages. Broader availability, including on desktop and all business pages, is expected later in the year.
Building on these changes, Yelp also integrated with Vagaro, Zocdoc, and Calendly to simplify booking services, and expanded DoorDash capabilities to support Canadian restaurants. Additionally, the Menu Vision feature now leverages artificial intelligence, augmented reality, and text recognition for richer restaurant menus. The redesigned home feed, driven by advanced AI, surfaces personalized content, trending spots, video, and smarter photo results on business pages.
