OBS Studio 32.1 released with overhauled audio mixer, WebRTC simulcast support, and more
OBS Studio 32.1 brings several key interface updates for creators and streamers. The audio mixer has been redesigned, with the layout now set to vertical by default. Users can switch between horizontal and vertical views using a new toolbar button, offering greater flexibility. Following these layout changes, the mixer adds a dedicated button to toggle audio monitoring and introduces the ability to pin audio sources, with pinned and global sources always displayed.
For better scene setup, sources in the preview are now shown while using Studio Mode. Additional options let users show hidden sources and those not present in the current scene, making complex scene management easier. Building on these enhancements, the update includes WebRTC simulcast support to expand broadcasting compatibility, and restores missing undo and redo actions for scene items such as scale filtering, blending, and deinterlacing settings.
Further improvements include partial Canvas support for obs-websocket to increase remote automation, enhanced security for browser sources using local files, and the ability to enable or disable missing plugins from the plugin manager. The default streaming bitrate has also been updated to 6000 kbps, joined by various smaller enhancements and bug fixes.
