Jami “Euclid” brings revamped UI, improved accessibility, better RTL support, and more
Jami’s latest “Euclid” update has been released and introduces a refreshed user interface with rounded corners, a redesigned Jami ID logo, and simpler account management. Building on this, the conversation view features uniform message and contact bars, background colors that match conversation themes, and smooth color transitions when switching chats.
Following the redesign, group conversation management (known as swarms) benefits from a new details' pane that uses a grid layout and visual markers: a golden crown for administrators, an envelope icon for pending invitees, and a blocked icon for users you have removed from the group.
For SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) users, a new keypad has been added for easier contact entry, with the telephone panel now accessible next to the search bar. While these features target a specific user group, they directly improve SIP usability.
Expanding language support, the update enhances the app experience for right-to-left (RTL) language users, including Arabic, Farsi, and Hebrew. Accessibility also sees improvements, as UI components now feature improved roles and descriptions for screen readers, and navigation bugs have been addressed.
Behind the scenes, Jami now relies on Qt 6.10 and updated C++ 20 dependencies to ensure better performance, while macOS users gain native Tahoe integration for smoother design uniformity.
