Immich 2.7 adds duplicate resolution, editor shortcuts, new web actions, and much more
Immich 2.7 brings multiple updates aimed at streamlining photo and video management for self-hosted users. The duplicate asset feature now operates on the server, automatically assessing which files to retain using image size and EXIF data. Metadata synchronization has been enhanced to cover attributes such as albums, favorite status, rating, description, visibility, location, and tags.
Expanding web interface capabilities, asset owners can remove items directly from albums with a new “Remove from album” action. This tool is accessible to both album and asset owners. Alongside this, the folder view introduces a “Move to locked folder” option, allowing users to increase control over access to sensitive folders.
Following these management improvements, users can now take advantage of keyboard shortcuts when editing. Pressing e opens the editor, [ or ] rotates an asset, and pressing Enter saves and exits the editor. The face tagging editor also receives an upgrade, letting users create new person entries instantly during labeling.
To further fortify installations, administrators can opt in to a Content Security Policy (CSP), improving protection against web attacks. The release also includes a new version check infrastructure, improvements for downloading live photos and videos in Safari, a fix for a cross-site scripting vulnerability, and several other enhancements.
