Tower 16 beta for Mac adds AI commits, new working copy view, and performance upgrades

Tower 16 beta for Mac introduces AI-powered commit generation, enabling users to automatically create commit messages and descriptions with assistance from artificial intelligence. After staging changes, users can generate suggested commit messages directly within the client using the new AI feature. An adjacent dropdown provides a selection of preset prompts for immediate customization.

To further tailor the AI experience, a new tab in the settings menu allows users to choose their preferred AI provider, such as Claude Code or OpenAI Codex. This tab also lets users add or delete custom prompt presets, offering deeper control over commit message output.

Following the AI integration, Tower 16 beta revamps the commit composing area. Three new icons now offer quick access to expanded body view, keeping the description field visible, commit templates to quickly insert previously saved text, and hard line wrap for automated line breaks.

Beyond these headline updates, Tower 16 beta also delivers smaller improvements. These include clickable URLs in the license window, general performance enhancements designed to streamline day-to-day use within the application, and other enhancements and bug fixes.
