Immich 2.6 improves map side panel, asset viewer, shared link slugs & presets, and more
Immich 2.6 has been released as the latest version of this open source, high performance self-hosted photo and video management solution. This update brings expanded authentication support by enabling user claims to be read directly from the idToken, improving compatibility with identity providers such as Microsoft Active Directory Federation Services. The asset viewer receives under-the-hood improvements that deliver faster loading, enhanced reliability, GIF playback, and video zoom for a smoother user experience.
On the web, the map view now opens a mini-timeline side panel when clusters are selected, allowing users to review grouped assets quickly and perform batch actions like adding items to favorites or albums. The shared link expiration form has also been updated for clarity, helping users better understand when shared access will expire.
On mobile devices, users can now select new album covers and set shared link slugs within the app. The mobile client also adopts native HTTP support across Android and iOS, enabling secure connections through mutual TLS, self-signed certificates, and custom headers. Additionally, search results now load incrementally, improving speed and introducing new screens for empty or fully loaded searches.
Lastly, administrators benefit from a new schema-check command in immich-admin, which automatically examines the database for missing indexes, constraints, tables, and columns at startup.
