Google expands Personal Intelligence in the U.S. across AI Mode in Search and Gemini

Google has announced the expansion of Personal Intelligence in the United States, making the feature available across AI Mode in Search, the Gemini app, and Gemini in Chrome. This rollout extends these upgraded capabilities to a wider audience, specifically targeting users with personal Google accounts.

By securely connecting information from Google apps such as Gmail and Google Photos, Personal Intelligence enables Google services to provide responses that are distinctly relevant to each user. These integrations can offer tailored shopping recommendations using recent purchase data and brand preferences. They also assist with troubleshooting by leveraging device model details found on purchase receipts. In addition, users may navigate complex schedules based on linked email and calendar information or generate a custom travel itinerary that reflects their specific interests and previously visited locations.

While these connected experiences are available now for AI Mode in Search, they are beginning to roll out in the Gemini app and in Gemini in Chrome for free-tier users. It is important to note that Personal Intelligence is limited to personal Google accounts and is not currently offered for Workspace business, enterprise, or education users.

Google emphasizes transparency and user choice in this update. Users retain control over whether to connect apps like Gmail and Google Photos and can enable or disable these connections at any time.
