ForkLift 4.6 adds tag autocompletion and one-click access to custom tools for macOS users

ForkLift 4.6 arrives as the newest release of the dual pane file manager and file transfer client for macOS. This update focuses on enhancing organization and customization for users who manage large file collections or require efficient workflows.

In this version, tag management receives significant updates. ForkLift now uses the tags listed in the settings for autocompletion in the preview pane and info window. As users type, matching tags from their predefined list are suggested for faster and more consistent tagging. The tag input field in the sidebar has been improved with a dropdown to suggest tags as you type and the option to expand to display all assigned tags, making tag assignment and viewing more accessible. Users can hide specific tags from the sidebar and assign tags directly from it to streamline everyday operations.

Alongside these changes, users can now add custom tools directly to the toolbar for single-click execution. When creating or editing a tool, they can assign an icon to make tools immediately recognizable both in the tools' section and on the toolbar. Following these enhancements, ForkLift 4.6 also brings various usability improvements and bug fixes for greater stability and usability throughout the application.
