EndeavourOS Titan launches with Linux 6.19, new GPU driver tools, and improved installer
EndeavourOS Titan has been released as the newest version of this Arch-based Linux distribution, bringing several core upgrades and enhancements. This release is powered by the Linux 6.19 kernel and updates core packages such as Calamares 26.03, Firefox 148, Mesa 26.0, Xorg-server 21.1, and Nvidia-utils 590.48.
Expanding on installation improvements, the Calamares-based installer now includes updated mirror ranking support. This enhancement provides users with an optimized mirror list even during offline installation, helping to boost download efficiency and reliability. Hardware detection capabilities have also been expanded to support all GPUs and virtual machines.
Building on these updates, EndeavourOS now installs additional drivers for all GPUs by default, including Vulkan drivers and packages for hardware-accelerated video decoding where applicable. GPU drivers are loaded earlier in the boot process, aiming to improve compatibility across different systems. In addition, a new tool named eos-hwtool is now available both within the installer and system-wide, allowing users to install or remove GPU drivers as needed.
Finally, users will notice the ISO size has increased from about 3 GB to 3.4 GB. This change enables more features and delivers an improved installation experience.
