Day One introduces Daily Chat for conversational journaling and new Gold subscription tier

Day One has launched Daily Chat, a new conversational AI-powered journaling feature that guides users through their entries using a simple back-and-forth chat. Instead of facing a blank page, users respond to thoughtful questions designed to encourage deeper reflection and recall of daily experiences. Each completed conversation is converted into a journal entry that captures the user’s language, mood, and perspective, ensuring their authentic voice remains central.

Daily Chat also includes a hands-free voice mode, allowing users to journal by speaking rather than typing. For those wishing for a more personalized experience, the integrated memory system extracts and remembers people, places, and interests mentioned in conversations. These memories inform future chats, helping the feature become more tailored over time. All memories and entries remain protected by end-to-end encryption, and are never used for AI training, maintaining user privacy.

In tandem with Daily Chat’s release, Day One has rebranded its Premium subscription as Day One Silver and launched a new Gold tier priced at $74.99 per year, while Silver remains at $49.99 per year. Daily Chat is available on iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows, and the web for Gold subscribers. Participation in Daily Chat and its artificial intelligence features is always optional, and can be disabled at any time.
