Astral to join OpenAI and integrate its tooling with Codex
Astral has agreed to join OpenAI and will become part of the Codex team. OpenAI will continue to support Astral’s open source tools following the acquisition. Astral’s widely-used Python development tools, such as Ruff, Uv, and Ty, will be integrated with OpenAI’s efforts to advance AI-powered coding.
