AerynOS update boosts atomic update speed and adds WiFi-friendly installs
AerynOS saw major tooling and infrastructure progress in February, with faster Moss updates, boulder enhancements, and improved build queue visualization. Desktop stacks were updated, including GNOME 49.4 and KDE Plasma 6.6.1. The update has significantly improved atomic update speed, enabling updates of about 65,000 files per second on SSDs and reducing overall update times. The distribution also now provides a Console-only installation option with built-in WiFi support, addressing issues for users without Ethernet connectivity. Additionally, the Summit dashboard adds live build queue visualization and dependency graphing, aiding contributor workflow and transparency.
