Xbox Social Clubs feature to be discontinued across all consoles in 2026
Xbox has recently announced that it will discontinue Social Clubs starting in April 2026 for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. The feature has functioned as a lightweight community hub for chatting, organizing gameplay sessions, and sharing media. Community created clubs will close, and the Clubs tab will be removed from the Friends and Community Updates section.
Official Clubs tied to specific games are not currently affected and will remain accessible via each game’s Game Card. Xbox has not shared a detailed reason for the change, but is directing players to alternatives such as party chat, direct messaging, Discord integration, Looking for Group, and the activity feed. Looking for Group will still support posting and joining sessions with requirements, and the activity feed will continue to host clips, screenshots, and achievements that can also be shared to external platforms.
It is still unclear whether existing club content will remain accessible after the shutdown, so users may want to save any posts or shared media ahead of time in case that data is removed.
